June 12, 2025
Banger Event Asia (Manuel CALUEBA, 2nd on the left and Mathieu ABDOUL-QUINQUE, on the right), joined forces with Confluences’ Dara N. VAN and Soreasmey KE BIN.

On May 31st, at Raffles Le Royal Phnom Penh, over 100 people gathered to enjoy a stand-up comedy show featuring French artist Redouanne Harjane. The show delivered sharp, humorous insights on everyday life and cultural observations, punctuated by light-hearted song interludes.

The audience’s laughter and interaction with the performer created a lively atmosphere full of positive energy— a promising start for our collaboration.

This event inaugurated an ongoing series aimed at bringing high-energy performances to the local cultural scene, with Confluences operating as the on-the-ground partner.

Banger Event Asia: Connecting international artists with local audiences

Based in Vietnam, Banger Event Asia is a dynamic company organizing original music and lifestyle events across Southeast Asia. With a presence in cities such as Ho Chi Minh City, Hanoi, Bangkok, Bali, Hong Kong, and Phnom Penh, they produce a variety of live shows and tours—including comedy shows and DJ performances—by connecting international artists with local audiences.

Founded by four passionate friends, Banger has experienced rapid growth thanks to its expertise in event management, partnerships with exceptional venues and artist booking. Over the past year alone, they have sold more than 3,000 tickets across the region.

A partnership to boost cultural initiatives in Cambodia

Banger made its Cambodian debut in April 2024 with a stand-up comedy show at Tribe, featuring performances by French artists Merwane Benlazar, John Sulo, Hugo Tout Seul, and Odah Sama. This first show was followed by well-received events, including DJ Fakear showcase at Oskar Bistro in October and an energetic boat party with Kanika Boat earlier this year. Projects for the 2025-2026 season are underway, with a summer break dedicated to planning and new initiatives, including efforts to diversify programming into classical music and other concert genres.

Banger Event Asia partnered with Confluences to further develop their presence in Cambodia, with the goal of hosting more events and creating a locally rooted, sustainable platform that will become a key reference for both French and international artists touring in the region.

As part of this collaboration, Confluences' Access Department will support the organization of future events by scouting and securing venues, identifying catering services, coordinating with partners and sponsors, and managing payment systems and ticketing logistics. Our team ensures smooth operations, allowing artists and organizers to focus on delivering memorable cultural experiences.

Together, we aim to energize Cambodia’s artistic scene by offering accessible, original, and engaging events across diverse venues. Our collaboration focuses on expert organization, reliable execution, visibility, and long-term growth, ensuring each event resonates with varied audiences.

Reflecting on our partnership, Mathieu from Banger quotes: “Life is a long quiet river” viewing this journey as steady and peaceful, with many promising developments ahead for a fruitful and long-lasting collaboration.

Stay tuned for more exciting updates!
