New Office and Showroom of Confluences Siem Reap

August 18, 2026
Meet the Siem Reap team: Sethamonin THONG (Malongo Business Development Coordinator), Chris VARIN (Confluences Siem Reap Manager), and Leap Heng THOK (Confluences Siem Reap Business Development Intern).

Confluences Siem Reap recently opened a new office and showroom at Rose Apple Square, marking the branch’s growth as a key extension supporting businesses and partners in Cambodia’s northern region. With Chris VARIN, Siem Reap Branch Manager, we discussed their recent developments and what he sees ahead for business in Siem Reap.

Congratulations on the new office and showroom. What does this new space represent for Confluences Siem Reap?

Chris: Opening our new office and showroom is a major milestone for Confluences in Siem Reap. It reflects the maturation of both our team and our footprint in the region.

Moving to a modern, centrally located business hub in the heart of Siem Reap was a natural choice. It is a perfect place to start small while being ready to scale our team, host partners and trade missions, and showcase our brands under one roof as we continue to support regional business development.

<....>

You mentioned the maturity of your team and footprint. How has Confluences Siem Reap evolved?

Chris: Back in 2023, our role was mainly an administrative contact point.  We have grown into a full-fledged business development hub for Confluences in the hospitality and tourism, sports, and agricultural sectors.

We actively support the Confluences Access team by guiding international clients and trade missions as they explore regional market opportunities. We also represent Confluences Tradings European building and sports solutions brands like CONICA and Sodex Sport and more for demands in Siem Reap.

The major news is that we have expanded our commercial role with Malongo Cambodia, driving France’s leading organic and fair-trade coffee brand's expansion in Siem Reap through B2B distribution, commercial development, and professional barista training.

For businesses looking to scale outside Phnom Penh, we can help them understand the market with our localized, end-to-end support.

Speaking of Confluences' role as a bridge for international operators in Cambodia, are there any major initiatives your team currently involve in to meet foreign interest pouring into the city?

Chris
: Confluences has been facilitating the development of Immersive Angkor, the Southeast Asia's first digital heritage experience that gives travelers the full story of the Angkorian Empire to complement their temple visits.

And a little fun fact, Immersive Angkor was initiated by Confluences. While it is now led and developed by Legendary Group, we continue to provide ongoing local support. That’s quite a classic Confluences approach.

We saw an opportunity here, brought in the right international expertise and businesses, and supported them along the way. Now the project is moving into the construction stage, which is exciting to see, as it will help diversify Siem Reap’s tourism offering while also creating positive economic ripple effects for the local community.

Chris VARIN and Soreasmey KE BIN, Confluences CEO, at the site to support the project team in accelerating the development of this fresh experience for tourists.

Beyond cultural tourism, what opportunities are you seeing in Siem Reap today for international investors and businesses, especially with the upcoming Francophonie Summit bringing new global attention to Cambodia?

Chris:  Having spent over 12 years on the ground, I’ve watched Siem Reap shift from a high-volume tourism destination toward a value-driven economy that focus on higher quality, longer tourist stays, and more sustainable operations, which open up new avenues for investment.

The market has broadened. I am seeing momentum in digital heritage, eco-innovation, sustainable agriculture, and specialized service industries.

Siem Reap will always stand out as the country's cultural anchor. I think the 20th Francophonie Summit emphasizes innovation, particularly through initiatives like FrancoTech will give a fresh perspective to the country's direction toward digital, innovative technology. It can signal growing opportunities to connect this to culture and heritage. The prime example is Immersive Angkor.

With over a decade in the Siem Reap's business scene, what advice would you share with international companies looking to establish their presence there?

Chris:   My key advice is to approach Siem Reap with a long-term perspective and deep local respect. You cannot simply duplicate capital-city strategies here; survival and success require understanding the local ecosystem, adapting your business model, and building genuine, trusted partnerships on the ground.

That is where Confluences comes in. Whether you need initial market access studies, legal and administrative setup, operational incubation, or distribution networks, our team provides the localized expertise and established networks required to minimize risk and accelerate your growth in Cambodia.
