Welcoming Little Green Spark To The Confluences Community!

May 2, 2023
Confluences team and residents are having a plastic management training session with Ms. Sarah KOLBENSTETTER, Founder of Little Green Spark

Confluences is now hosting zero-waste and eco-consultant firm Little Green Spark which is led by its founder, Ms. Sarah Kolbenstetter.

Little Green Spark was created in 2021 with the objective of contributing to the reduction and better management of waste generated by businesses and organisations operating in Cambodia. Moreover, the consultant also offers several services such as sensitisation training around the topic of waste, training of trainers, zero waste project implementation, etc.

In early April, upon Little Green Spark becoming a resident at Confluence, our team had the opportunity to learn about Zero Waste Management directly from Ms. Kolbenstetter. Our team enjoyed learning and observing more about the impacts of plastic in Cambodia and better understanding which types of plastic are suitable for recycling and reuse - to help limit the daily usage of plastics.

Ms. Heang Chila, our Human Resource Officer, said: “Participating in the course relating to Zero Waste Management was very insightful and fun. I learned a lot of good information on how to recycle plastic bottles and reduce the usage of plastics. The most important thing I realise is that in Cambodia we produce tons of plastic every week. I believe that each of us will produce plastic waste, but by starting small, we could cut down the usage of plastics in many ways, from recycling to reusing the plastics for other purposes”.

This is not the first time that our team has been involved in environmental impacts. Last year, the Confluences team participated in the “One Step No Plastic Campaign” and earlier in 2023, we also installed the Ecobatt Battery Recycling Bin at our office to prevent batteries from ending up in our landfills. We have just announced that we are also joining the Cambodia Energy Efficiency competition that will begin in May.

Both Little Green Spark and Asia Data Destruction, two of our resident companies, are involved in organising the Waste Summit to be held on 13th May, 2023 at the Factory Cambodia.
