The Role

Description of the company

Immersive Angkor Legacy is a Cambodian company under the realm of Confluences Ventures with offices in Phnom Penh and Siem Reap, and for the sole purpose of developing, designing, constructing, marketing, and operating an immersive experience hall to be built in Siem Reap.

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Project Manager/Construction Manager to join our team in Siem Reap and play a crucial role in the development and ongoing operation of the upcoming Immersive Angkor experience.

Duties:

A Project Manager/Construction Manager will spearhead the project management, construction management, quality control, and post-construction maintenance of a groundbreaking immersive museum experience dedicated to the Angkor temple complex and the rich history of Cambodia.

There is currently a Tender in progress, and you will be responsible for representing the interests of the Immersive Angkor building project throughout the process. This includes serving as the client’s representative on-site and managing interactions with the various third parties that will be selected during the tender.

As the project progresses, you will transition into the role of Chief Engineer, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of the museum's technical systems and facilities.

 

What you’ll do:

  1. Project Management:

Lead and Chair project meetings:

  • Convene and chair regular project meetings (weekly, bi-weekly, or as needed) with all stakeholders (architects, contractors, sub contractors, etc.) to discuss progress, challenges, and solutions.
  • Prepare agendas and circulate them in advance to ensure focused and productive meetings.
  • Facilitate discussions, ensuring all voices are heard and key decisions are made collaboratively.
  • Document key decisions, action items, and next steps in meeting minutes for future reference.

Maintain and communicate project status:

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project schedules and budgets.
  • Track project progress against the baseline plan, identifying any deviations and potential risks.
  • Prepare and distribute clear and concise project reports (weekly or monthly, depending on needs) to all stakeholders, highlighting key achievements, challenges, and upcoming milestones.
  • Proactively manage project risks by identifying potential issues early, developing mitigation strategies, and communicating them to stakeholders.

Ensure project alignment and quality:

  • Clearly communicate project goals, expectations, and timelines to all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Facilitate close collaboration and communication between all stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficient project execution.
  • Lead discussions and decision-making processes to ensure alignment with project objectives and priorities.
  • Establish and maintain a quality control program to ensure project deliverables meet the required standards.

By taking a leadership role in these various aspects of project management, you will ensure the smooth and successful execution of the Immersive Angkor Museum project while keeping all stakeholders informed and engaged.

  1. Quality Control:
  • Develop and implement a comprehensive quality control program for the Immersive Angkor Museum project.
  • Conduct inspections, tests, and audits to ensure compliance with relevant standards and specifications.
  • Document and report any quality deficiencies and coordinate corrective actions.

 

  1. Post-Construction Maintenance:
  • Develop and implement a preventative maintenance plan for the museum's technical systems and facilities.
  • Over see the operation and maintenance of building systems (HVAC, electrical, IT, etc.)at the Immersive Angkor Museum.
  • Manage maintenance budgets and ensure efficient resource allocation.
  • Train museum staff on proper operation and maintenance procedures for the Immersive Angkor Museum.
  • Represent the interests of the Immersive Angkor building project in all interactions with stakeholders. This includes:

        -      Effectively communicating project progress, challenges, and solutions to company management, investors, and other relevant parties.

         -      Advocating for the project's needs and ensuring alignment with the overall project vision and objectives.

  • Maintaining positive and professional relationships with all stakeholders throughout the project lifecycle.

Candidate requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum5 years of experience in project management and construction, with a proven track record of successful project delivery.
  • Experience in quality control and assurance practices in the construction industry.
  • Strong understanding of building systems and maintenance procedures.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in project management software (e.g., Primavera, MS Project).
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Fluency in English and Khmer is required. French language proficiency is a plus.
  • Experience working in Cambodia or Southeast Asia is a plus.
