Business France's Tastin’ France Lands in Cambodia

April 8, 2026
Local F&B insiders explored exclusive French selections at the Tastin’France event at Novotel Phnom Penh.

Confluences supported our partner Business France in organizing their first-ever Tastin’France event on March 28, 2026, in Cambodia. A selection of 176 wines was presented by 15 leading French producers to 50 local industry professionals , highlighting a key step in strengthening France–Cambodia wine trade ties.

Direct Wine Market Connection

Our local partners also connected with industry peers to discuss developments and opportunities.

Tastin' France is a professional wine tasting event that promotes French wines, spirits, and gastronomy in international B2B markets. As part of their Asia tour, this first edition brought producers from French major regions, from Bordeaux to Champagne, straight to Phnom Penh to showcase their best selections to Cambodia's importers, distributors, and F&B professionals.

The event also promoted direct exchange between producers and local buyers, extending discussions beyond flavor to topics such as consumers, distribution strategies, and more for long-term partnerships.

Beyond Famous Labels: Mutual Strategic Value in Rising Market

Dara N. VAN, Confluences Market Access Manager, led a briefing on the Cambodian market for the French delegation.

In addition to the tasting sessions, the 15 French producers were also introduced to key insights from Confluences Access, including Cambodia’s wine trade environment and other key market dynamics.  It takes more than just a label but also local market understanding plus the right strategy for market entry.

Cambodia may be small in Asia’s wine landscape, but our momentum is clear, especially for French wines, which already have a strong recognition in the country. France has been dominating Cambodia's market share and is known as the fastest-growing origin for imports, with a 21.6% rise in volume from 2020 to 2024.

Display of renowned labels from major regions such as Champagne, Bordeaux, Loire Valley, Languedoc, and Provence.

The growth of luxury hotels, fine dining places, bars, and rising interest in wine among both locals and expatriates is helping to push wine’s presence in Cambodia. As tourism and hospitality sectors and consumer bases expand, so do opportunities for international producers, especially for those who can pair their strong products with Cambodian market knowledge and the right partnerships.

For our local partners, Tastin’France Cambodia wasn't just about meeting a new supplier but securing the best and limited-availability products that will keep their portfolios apart in the local competitive market.

Partnership of Complementary Strengths

The team behind the smooth organization: Market Access Specialist Anovita ING, Senior Market Access Specialist Khemra BONAMY, and Market Access Specialist Leeza CHANG.

The success of Tastin’France in Cambodia was built on complementary expertise with our partner Business France, who introduced a delegation of leading French producers, while we opened the door through local execution, including logistics, market intel, and B2B attendee profiling to create targeted business opportunities.

“What stood out to me was the diversity of the wines and the genuine interest shown by the producers in understanding Cambodia. It was a very positive and constructive event. I was also proud to join our market access team in delivering such a well-organized platform,” said Khemra BONAMY, Senior Market Specialist of Confluences. “And of course, always happy to enjoy good French wines.”

As Business France’s official representative in Cambodia and Team France Export (TFE) accredited partner, Confluences has been supporting their activities in the kingdom and has been a trusted partner for French companies exploring the Cambodian market through the highest standard B2B matchmaking, market entry support, and delegation hosting, including last year's Business France mission in Cambodia.
