Building on the successful initial talk with key public stakeholders of French-Cambodia's education and STEM sector earlier this year, Edumalin progressed its mission in Cambodia with support from Confluences, engaging directly with key education partners and development agencies to design a roadmap to introduce their edtech to teachers and students here.
Since 2016, Edumalin has reached 20% of schools in France and expanded to Morocco, Ethiopia, and other countries. Their success in Europe, together with the shared vision of combining technology and education and especially between Cambodia and Francophone countries for greater impact, led to a key meeting during VivaTech 2025 between Edumalin, France Éducation International (FEI), The Ministry of Industry, Science, Technology & Innovation (MISTI), and Confluences to bring Edumalin’s platform to support education in Cambodia.

As a facilitator, Confluences built an agenda that opened the door for Edumalin to connect directly with Cambodia’s leading education institutions. Supported by MISTI, Edumalin engaged with the Minister and Senior officials of Ministry of Education, Youth and Sports (MOEYS), The National Institute of Education (NIE) to understand Cambodia’s unique education context. The mission also included meetings with development partners such as AFD and the EU Delegation to explore future collaboration opportunities to support digital learning in Cambodia.

In terms of technology collaboration, Edumalin met with the Institute of Technology of Cambodia (ITC) and the Cambodia Academy of Digital Technology (CADT) to understand the local digital system and how their platform could be adapted to fit current Cambodia’s education needs and future integration opportunities.

Edumalin is built on explicit and structured learning methods designed to help upper secondary teachers teach more effectively and students learn more independently. With its AI-powered assistant and data insights, Edumalin offers interactive resources, teaching support, and personalized learning paths that help improve learning outcomes.
This aligns well with Cambodia’s education goal and digital transformation which have grown rapidly, especially since the COVID-19 pandemic. Earlier this year, MoEYS officially introduced the Digital Education Strategy (DESS) to promote digital literacy, integrate technology and artificial intelligence (AI) into school curricula, improve digital infrastructure and teacher capacity, and expand access to digital tools.
Through direct discussions with key stakeholders, both challenges and opportunities have been shared that will prepare Edumalin for the next steps in progressing the project.
